The Backcountry Trail
The Hugh S. Branyon Backcountry Trail is 15 miles of gorgeous nature trails. From bald eagle nests to a variety of reptile species and beautiful water views, you’ll find it all on these along these six distinct ecosystems here on the Gulf Coast. You can choose to walk, jog or bike and make plans to stop at local coffee shops, ice cream parlors or grab lunch at one of the restaurants along the way.
Are you surprised to see golf as a suggestion along our white sand beaches? There are 9 impressive golf courses in our area and avid golfers love the weather this time of year. Several of the courses were actually designed by pro-golfers and they frequent the area to take advantage of the mild temps in winter. If you have little ones, there are plenty of options for mini-golf like Pirates Island in Orange Beach. Golfing at the beach? Yes, please.
Concerts at The Wharf
The Wharf Amphitheater keeps the entertainment lined up throughout the year. Make plans for dinner at one of the many well-known restaurants within the Entertainment District at The Wharf, do some shopping and then head over to enjoy lineups like Brantley Gilbert, Journey and many more. Keep check on the website for updates as they announced. You can even arrive by boat and park at the marina!
Back Bay Blueway
If water adventures are more your style, check out one of the Back Bay Blueway trails in Fort Morgan, Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. You can rent a kayak, paddleboard or jet ski and even join an eco-tour after launching from one of the 21 launch sites and enjoy a day full of nature and a great paddling workout.
Health and Wellness
A big trend for 2020 is Wellness Weekends. Whether you plan an entire weekend around this topic or simply devote a couple of hours to self-care, Orange Beach is full of possibilities.

If you plan to take place in any of the upcoming marathons in our area, this is a great place to spend the afternoon after a race to recover and re-hydrate.
