Whether it is a summer afternoon storm that passes within an hour or a couple days of tropical weather, rain might be part of your vacation plans here on the Gulf Coast. Coastal Arts Center
Many people are surprised to hear about how many classes and exhibits the Coastal Arts Center in Orange Beach offers. From pottery classes to blown glass creations, you will find many unique options. The Factory in Gulf Shores
If your kids are full of energy and love to jump or climb, they will enjoy an afternoon at The Factory! They offer trampolines and a rock-climbing wall for all ages and skill levels.
Fat Daddy’s Arcade in Orange Beach
Ready, set, go! Race cars, play pinball and air hockey, wheel-of-fortune and show much more. This is the area’s largest arcade and always offers a great time for all ages. Whether you have children or you are just a big kid at heart, spend your rainy-day earning tickets at the arcade.
Restaurants
We have some of the best food in United States and the local restaurants offer delicious Gulf seafood so plan to spend some time trying the cuisine while you’re in town. A rainy day is the perfect time to stop into one of the local favorites to try something new or order a fun beachy cocktail while you wait on the rain to pass. There are many local eateries that have large covered decks where you can actually sit and enjoy the rain while you eat your meal. Try LuLu’s at Homeport Marina, Tacky Jacks or The Hangout for rainy day water views.
Build-A-Bear at The Wharf
Let the kids express their creative talents at Build-A-Bear workshop located at The Wharf in Orange Beach. They can choose from so many characters and then take the bears home with them as a souvenir of their vacation to our beaches.
Relax at your Vacation Rental
Many of our vacation rentals include balconies or patios. Whether you book at condo or beach house, a rainy morning, afternoon or evening can be so relaxing when you’re watching it from the comfort of a comfortable beach chair on your balcony. Watch the clouds roll in and then back out again. Enjoy the cool breeze blowing or the lightning over the water in the distance. Mother Nature puts on a show and we’d suggest having a front row seat to watch the magic from one of our vacation rentals in the area!
